Palladium print are created using a mixture of palladium metal and a light sensitive iron salt. This mixture is hand coated onto cotton rag papers and dried. Once dried a negative is placed in contact with the paper and exposed to ultraviolet light. What remains after development and clearing is an image composed of pure palladium metal. As palladium metal does not oxidize under normal conditions this leads to an image of exceptional stability and is among the most durable of photographic processes.
It’s stability, tonal range, color and appearance can not be matched.
